OVERVIEW
Walk through sub-tropical rainforest to reach the world's largest perched lake and neighbouring black and white water lakes.
Observe examples of the Island's black and white water, a result of chemical changes and organic matter varying the colours of its lakes from clear to dark red.
Facilities include toilets, camping ground and fenced eating area.
Take the track along Lake Boomanjin's northwest beach before following an incline up to a ridge of Scribbly Gum. Continue through open woodland and regenerating forests of Blackbutt and Brushbox, gradually rebuilding after years of commercial logging.
Further along the track the vegetation changes, offering a chance to see sub-tropical rainforestspecies including Kauri Pines, vines, Staghorns, palm lilies and mosses. Descend to follow the track along the shoreline.
Please be respectful. This is a culturally significant place.
