The valley displays some of the most ancient trees found anywhere on the Island. The Satinay and Brushbox forest here contains trees more than 1200 years old and greater than four metres across the trunk, all growing in sand. The Brushbox is a medium sized tree attaining a height of 35-40m and a stem diameter of 1-2m.
