Lake Benaroon

OVERVIEW

Lake Benaroon is a perched lake with a wide sandy beach, fringed by paperbark trees.

Like Lake Boomajin, Benaroon is a 'black water' lake, with dissolved vegetation staining its water a dark red colour.

Accessible only on foot, this smaller lake is segmented by sand spits. Walk through tall Eucalypts that ridge the lake and patches of rainforest before reaching the rich, deep red water's edge.

Dingoes roam the area, so follow the dingo safety warnings.

Facilities

A fenced walkers' camp provides access to a toilet, fresh water and seats.
