The Thompson Institute's Longitudinal Adolescent Brain Study (LABS) recently welcomed its 50th research participant.
Oliver Woods, a 12-year-old student at Sunshine Coast Grammar School, said he joined the study because it sounded like “an important project to be a part of”.
“I am interested in knowing more about what studying the brain can do to improve everyone’s health as they grow up,” Oliver said.
When asked what he enjoyed about his first day at LABS, he said, “Everyone takes good care of you if you are feeling anxious about the unknown.”
“It is very cool to see an image of my brain,” Oliver added.
Oliver is 1 of 11 Sunshine Coast Grammar School students taking part in LABS.
