To assist female students who choose study leading into the possibility of a career in political or public life.
The Young Women in Leadership Award recognises young women, aged 16-19, for demonstrating leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes and encourages them to continue their participation in public and political life.
Please Note: This award is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the award will not be offered.
- Eligibility
- Women, aged 16-19 on 1st April each year
- Apply via an applicable Zonta club - Use the Club Locator at zonta.org/locateaclub
- Active commitment to volunteerism
- Experience in local government, student government, or workplace leadership (paid or unpaid)
- Volunteer leadership achievements
- Knowledge of Zonta International and its programs
- Support for Zonta International’s mission of empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy.
- Selection criteria
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Commitment to service for the community
- Future study should lead into the possibility of a career in political or public life
