For students undertaking compulsory practical (work integrated learning) placements as part of their health-related degree.
The L&R Foundation, established by Leanne Muller and Robert Hubbard, aims to support tertiary education for regional students who demonstrate academic potential, but face financial and other barriers to completing a degree at UniSC.
The L&R Foundation Placement Bursary aims to:
- Support equity groups from low socio-economic backgrounds with demonstrated financial need
- Enable recipients to dedicate more time to their studies, with less focus on paid employment
- Increase retention and encourage academic achievement of students from low socio-economic backgrounds
The Bursary is intended to offset placement-related costs, with priority given to students with the greatest equity need and undertaking the longest placements at a location away from their home residence.
The value of each bursary will be relevant to the placement duration as below:
- Up to 4 weeks placement = $2,000
- 5 and 6 week placements = $3,000
- 8 weeks and longer placements = $4,000
Please note: This bursary is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the bursary will not be awarded.
