Scholarship applications for Semester 1, 2025 are now open and will close on 30 November 2024.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by close of business, 28 February 2025.
The Buranga Centre Study on Country Scholarship will assist Indigenous students to study from rural or remote locations.
These scholarships are for Indigenous undergraduate students enrolled in a Commonwealth-supported program at UniSC and will be available subject to funding from the federal government.
The Buranga Centre Study on Country Scholarship is to enable access to higher education while in regional and remote locations, and to assist Indigenous students to meet the costs of living while studying.
Recipients will receive $5,000 over two semesters ($2,500 per semester). Payments will be made as a lump sum approximately 3 weeks after the census date.
- Eligibility
- identifying as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person
- enrolled full-time in any undergraduate program at UniSC (or part-time, where there are exceptional circumstances preventing full-time enrolment)
- has not previously completed the requirements of an undergraduate program
- evidence of financial need
- students that continue to reside in regional and remote areas while undertaking their study
