Course details
This course (commencing in session 8, 2024) will take you on a once in a lifetime learning opportunity to Bangalore, India. This program, which comprises a 1 week intensive at UniSC and 2 weeks working in India, will see students working with Pollinate Group a social enterprise who empower women as leaders of change to distribute products that improve health, save time and save money for the world’s most neglected communities.
During the Pollinate Group Community Planning and Social Entrepreneurship Fellowship Program, UniSC students undertake the verification and mapping of informal communities and their built environment.
You will research and establish the form of community access and dispersion of services including water, power, technology and sanitation. You will also conduct interviews with community members about their work, household circumstances and their need for such services.
Additional research focuses on the materials, design and environmental conditions within communities. You gain experience communicating complex information in cross-cultural situations. At the conclusion of the program, you present your data and recommendations to Pollinate Group, in addition to submitting a final report based on your analyses.
