Application for Honours Scholarships

Eligibility

Applicants must be commencing honours study* at UniSC, have enrolment as a Commonwealth supported student in any ‘end-on’ Honours program (eg not an embedded Honours or Professional Honours program), and not already in receipt of a UniSC merit scholarship or a UniSC Honours or Postgraduate Scholarship for their Honours year of study.

* Please ensure you have lodged your Application for Honours Program.

Selection criteria
  • Academic merit, based on GPA for advanced level courses undertaken
  • Research focus and potential alignment to UniSC Research concentrations (under research themes)
  • Intention/motivation for ongoing study/research and pursuit of a Higher Degree of Research (HDR)
  • Financial need and other equity considerations determined by the University (for equity scholarships only)
Value

Scholarships will be paid in instalments over two (2) semesters, or pro rata payment for part-time students, equivalent to the units of study.

Provide a brief statement (max. 200 words) for each of the following points.

Personal circumstances

Please provide one of the following documents (or similar):

• a letter from Medical Practitioner/Psychologist/Social Worker

• a letter of support from UniSC Student Wellbeing if currently supported by the team

• a statement from a family member or other member of the community (e.g., school staff member, counsellor, chaplain)

• a Centrelink statement showing a recent Crisis Payment

• a copy of a protection order/police report/court order

• a report showing you are or were in foster care or similar circumstances

Financial need

Please provide copies of 3 recent consecutive payslips.

Please provide evidence of your partner/spouse's income from all sources.
