Getting an early and guaranteed offer to university

Imagine knowing your child has secured a place at University before they even finish Year 12? By offering school leavers an early and guaranteed place in November, USC’s Early Offer Guarantee program helps students and their families beat the stress and plan for the study journey ahead, knowing they’ve got uni sorted.

What is the Early Offer Guarantee?

The Early Offer Guarantee is a program for eligible Year 12 students to gain an early and guaranteed offer to a USC program before they receive their Year 12 results, as long they have met all the entry criteria.

What are the requirements of the Early Offer Guarantee?

The Early Offer Guarantee is no free ride and all normal course prerequisites (mandatory school subjects that need to be completed to gain entry into a university program) still apply.

Your child doesn’t need to be ATAR eligible to apply, but they do need to demonstrate a level of academic performance and potential in line with the ATAR/Selection Rank  for their preferred program.

How does my child apply?

To apply, your child will need their principal’s approval, who will consider your child’s academic performance, motivation to succeed, and personal qualities like their interests, passion and talents.

There are more than 100 undergraduate programs on offer at USC, however some health and science related programs are not available for entry through the Early Offer Guarantee program.

Your child will also need to put their USC program they are applying for early entry into as their first preference in their Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) application.

What do students like about this program?

USC Student Ambassador and High Performance Student Musician, Jamison Kehl, is studying a Bachelor of Music. A former student of Noosa District State High School, Jamison applied and received an Early Offer Guarantee into her degree on her way to her Year 12 Formal.

“I was over the moon when I received my Early Offer Guarantee - it was literally the afternoon I graduated from high school and had my formal! I can't describe the feeling of walking across my school stage knowing I had finally crossed the schooling finish line and was going to study at the university I chose as my first preference.” Jamison said.

“Having received my offer to University in November allowed me to travel during the Summer break. I didn’t have to worry about my results, offers, QTAC forms. It was a dream.”

Applications for USC’s Early Offer Guarantee program are now open for Year 12 students looking to study at USC in 2020. Applications are due to schools by 11 October.
