Strange Weather brought together artworks that broadly considered how our contemporary understanding of the environment and our place within it is mediated by technology.

Here strange weather was a metaphor for ecological, geopolitical, technological and economic fragmentation. The artists in this exhibition used photography, moving images, sound, data, mapping and weather monitoring technologies, among others, to explore aspects of atmospheric strangeness that shape our understanding and experience.

Presented for ISEA2024, the International Symposium on Electronic Art which brings together scholars, artists, and scientists from around the world to explore the intersection of art, science, and technology. ISEA2024 Everywhen is a ground-breaking hybrid program that allows global audiences to engage with online exhibitions, live panels, immersive artworks and engaging presentations across time zones. The in-person program includes exhibitions and events across Meanjin (Brisbane) and an immersive Field Trip on Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) Country (Sunshine Coast).
