A commitment to high-quality teaching has secured the University of the Sunshine Coast a top national spot in the Australian Financial Review BOSS Best Business Schools list.
UniSC’s School of Business and Creative Industries was named first in Queensland and among Australia’s top two in the Teaching category of the publication’s 2024 rankings of university business schools.
UniSC Dean, School of Business and Creative Industries, Professor Mark Loon said student satisfaction, a commitment to quality teaching, and global accreditation played a vital pivotal role in the strong results.
“We know that our Business students appreciate the dedication and care of our teaching staff and the fact that our University’s smaller class sizes and flexible learning options allow for a more personalised experience,” Professor Loon said.
“Every student also completes either an industry placement or project with a local business as a requirement of their undergraduate degree, allowing them to make industry connections before they’ve graduated
“As a result, many students have developed their own business while studying or have gone on to employment soon after graduating based on the business connections they have already made.”
In 2024, UniSC was named Queensland’s best public university for the overall quality of its educational experience for undergraduate students in the Australian Government’s recent national Student Experience Survey.
And in November last year the Business school was accredited by AACSB International, the world’s longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools. Less than six percent of business schools worldwide are accredited by AACSB International due to the rigorous accreditation process.
UniSC was also named overall one of Queensland’s top two public universities for Teaching in the AFR’s inaugural Best University Rankings in 2024.
