USC Caboolture to welcome 260 new students

An Orientation celebration at USC Caboolture on Monday 15 July will welcome about 260 new students who have enrolled to start studying in Semester 2.

That will bring to almost 1,000 the number of students studying at the campus at Tallon Street, Caboolture, this semester.

USC Caboolture offers full degrees in Business, Commerce, Education and Nursing Science, along with first-year subjects in Creative Industries, two diplomas, Tertiary Preparation Pathway, and Headstart for senior high school students.

A free barbecue breakfast at the front of campus from 9.30am will cater for students as they meet USC staff and volunteers and prepare for study information sessions from 10.15am.

In the campus courtyard from 11am to 1.30pm will be market stalls, live performances by USC Music students and a free lunch. A Welcome to Country will be held at 12.15pm.

USC Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill said Orientation was an important opportunity for students to tour the campus, explore support services and learn about student groups and activities.

“They can learn how to access facilities and services at the Caboolture campus, from its interactive technologies and library to its Health Learning and Simulation Centre, where nursing students gain practical skills in a simulated hospital environment,” he said.

In addition, academic skills workshops will be provided from Thursday 11 July to Wednesday 17 July for students new to university life. More details about Orientation at USC Caboolture are at www.usc.edu.au/orientation-caboolture
