Academic and industry experts are aiming for plenty of lightbulb moments at the Australian Utility Pole Conference to be held at USC Sunshine Coast tomorrow, Tuesday 5 February.
They will discuss current issues, best practice and latest research involving Australian wood poles, which are integral to the energy sector and utility distribution networks.
Topics include fire protection, fungal and insect attack, disposal, reuse, restoration and new products.
The conference will be presented by the newly established National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life at USC.
It will finish on campus at Sippy Downs on Wednesday 6 February.
