Crowds of keen students hailing from Mackay to Mango Hill, and Melbourne to Maryland USA, brought colour and excitement to the USC Sunshine Coast campus for Orientation today, Monday 18 February.
School friends and new friends toured the campus, talked to USC staff about their degrees and enjoyed the sports, social and cultural clubs, market stalls and entertainment.
The University has more than 4,000 first-year students starting Semester 1 at Sippy Downs next Monday, 25 February, and almost 1,000 more across its other campuses.
The celebrations started with a Welcome to Country by the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe and an official welcome by Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill and included a group photo of the new students and the launch of the 2019 High Performance Student Athlete Program.
Tomorrow’s activities on campus at Sippy Downs will include an Orientation for International Students from 8.30am and a free barbecue lunch and music from noon.
