Local business leaders have an opportunity to update their executive skills in an afternoon with industry professionals and academics at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
A Business Leaders’ Workshop will be offered by the USC Business School on Wednesday 20 February from noon to 5pm.
The workshop will be led by USC senior Business lecturer Dr Retha De Villiers Scheepers, USC senior Management lecturer Dr Wayne Graham, human resources professional Dr Christina Turner and technologist and business leader Gavin Keeley.
Dr Graham said the event would provide executive education as well as the chance to connect with leaders from other industries across the region.
“Along with the great opportunities for networking, this workshop is about bringing your industry-related challenges, dreams and visions together and being able to discuss them with people from other industries,” Dr Graham said.
“Different industries and people with different viewpoints have different ways of solving problems, and we often find that businesses are created from these programs when two like-minded leaders get together and birth a new idea.”
Workshop participants will also hear about the current thinking on topics like self-aware leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship that will help them grow their organisations in an era of complexity and disruption.
The workshop, aimed at executives with at least five years’ management experience, will provide a sample of USC’s Executive Master of Business Administration, which is delivered over one weekend a month for 24 months.
The Business Leaders’ Workshop will be held at USC’s main campus at Sippy Downs. For more details visit www.usc.edu.au/business-leaders-workshop
