A new Caboolture graduate of the University of the Sunshine Coast has already landed a job in the cardiac and stroke ward of Caboolture Hospital.

Parris Newlove, 22, graduated this month from USC with a Bachelor of Nursing Science.

“I absolutely love my nursing graduate position in this ward of the hospital,” said the former Beerwah State High School student.

“I feel that working where I grew up is helping me give back to my community through positive health care and promotion.

“The USC degree provided excellent practical facilities and placements for me to gain the knowledge and confidence to chase my dreams.”

Parris enrolled at USC after studying at a Brisbane university for a year.“It was the best decision I made because I was no longer just another person in the crowd,” she said.

“USC’s tutors and lecturers made it a personal experience. They really wanted me to understand and succeed in my studies.”

Parris said she was excited about the possibilities offered by a nursing career, such as volunteering overseas, studying a Master degree, or working in intensive care and health promotion.
