The skills involved in capturing sporting glory with a camera will be the focus of a free public lecture at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Friday 18 March.
In the latest of USC’s Friday Night Sport Talk series, USC Lecturer in Photography Andrew Mortimer will discuss the techniques and practicalities of sports photography and how people can break into the competitive field.
Mr Mortimer is an accredited professional photographer and photographic educator and runs his own photography business.
His 30-minute talk will focus on how photographers can capture decisive sporting moments, improve the composition of their images, and understand what equipment is required for various events.
He will also offer advice on operating as a photographer, including obtaining press passes, photo releases and copyright.
The presentation is aimed at anyone aged 13 and over with an interest in sport, with budding photographers particularly encouraged to attend.
The 30-minute talk will begin at 5.30pm at the USC Sports Stadium recreation room. Barbecue food is available for purchase.
Friday Night Sport Talks are a University of the Sunshine Coast community engagement initiative and are sponsored by local sports retailers.
