Advancing smart computing for a positive future.
Bringing together multidisciplinary expertise to address the growing demand for computational research.
This cluster brings together the dispersed knowledge of Smart Computing that exists across academic and professional areas of the University. The goal is to drive collaboration and build critical mass of impactful research to enhance grant opportunities through national and international partnerships.
The Smart Computing cluster brings together multidisciplinary expertise in AI, IoT, Big Data, Security and Digital Citizen Science around a research development framework, to address the growing demand for computational research. It will give other UniSC researchers a “go to” body for support and development within this context.
Through collaboration, interdisciplinary partnerships, and a commitment to ethical and responsible computing practices, we will push the boundaries of what is possible and advance the field of smart computing for the betterment of all.
Cluster lead: Dr. Rania Shibl
Our aim
To be a world-leading hub of innovation and excellence in the field of computing, driving cutting-edge research and development to create impactful and sustainable solutions for society.
About the Smart Computing research cluster
The incorporation of Academic and Professional staff (IT Specialist Technologies) will give this cluster a unique capability to interact with areas of the University that can impact the whole organisation. This interaction can drive the provision of new services and skill development as identified and developed by the cluster.
