The BASC Lab provides those studying the Bachelor of Urban Design and Town Planning (Honours) and Higher Degree by Research (Masters by Research and PhD) with the opportunity to develop practical knowledge of environmental design and systems thinking through research and experimentation.
Climate data collection, data analysis, computer simulations and real-world experiments in the lab allow students to critically assess the main factors affecting the climatic and environmental performance of public urban spaces.
These aspects of the urban environment are explored in the following courses:
- ENP101- Introduction to Urban Design & Town Planning - Studio I
- ENP104 - Urban Economics and System Analytics
- ENP255 - Public Space Planning and Design - Studio II
- ENP203 - Urban Climate Theory and Science
- ENP355 - Neighbourhood Planning and Design - Studio III
- ENP455 - Community Planning and Design - Studio IV
