UniSC's Thompson Institute is investigating the underlying illness process of debilitating fatigue conditions, specifically myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, and long COVID.
With the invaluable support of our research participants, we're developing imaging criteria for diagnosis of ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and long COVID.
Using advanced MRI, our research is uncovering the mysteries of neuroinflammation and brain function, shedding light on the underlying processes that drive these debilitating disorders.
Our study will integrate blood biomarker analysis with MRI using machine learning techniques. This pioneering approach promises to pave the way for more precise, personalised diagnostics, ultimately transforming patient care and offering precision medicine.
