Justin Crosby Memorial Law Scholarship

Scholarship applications for Semester 2, 2025 are now open and will close on 31 May 2025.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by close of business, 31 August 2025.

Supporting a second year undergraduate Bachelor of Laws or combined law program student who has successfully completed at least eight courses.

The Justin Crosby Memorial Law Scholarship was established by the Sunshine Coast Law Association Inc. to honour the memory of Justin Crosby. Justin provided outstanding legal service to residents of the Sunshine Coast over a long period of time. The recipient will receive A$2,500 in 2nd year and $2,500 in 3rd year, paid in lump sums following enrolment and eligibility checks after Census date in Semester 2.

Please note: This scholarship is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, this scholarship will not be awarded.

Eligibility
  • full-time second year undergraduate student
  • enrolled in a Bachelor of Laws program (including combined law programs) at UniSC
  • successful completion of a minimum of 96 units (equivalent to one year full-time studies)
  • Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Permanent Humanitarian Visa holder or permanent resident of Australia
Selection criteria
  • demonstrated financial need
  • demonstrated academic merit based on student's first year results in a Bachelor of Laws program 
  • hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available for the student to study (e.g. compulsory fieldwork placement, significant carer responsibilities) and other equity considerations
  • preference given to students who attended secondary school on the Sunshine Coast
