Tammy Pilton Pluck

Tammy Pilton-Pluck is a Casual Academic at University of the Sunshine Coast, and a Visiting Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University in the United Kingdom.

Having initially graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from Griffith University in 2009, Tammy predominantly worked in acute palliative and end-of-life, community aged care, and went on to specialise in renal therapy with a Graduate Certificate in Nursing Specialisation (Renal) with University of Tasmania in 2017. During this period Tammy completed an initial abstract/study “The effect of room temperature and humidity on haemodialysis patient outcomes in a satellite unit” and presented this at the 2017 Renal Society of Australia Conference in Sydney.

In 2018 Tammy moved to England and worked in the NHS for over 4 years in which time she worked in frailty, and spent 3 years in Clinical Nurse Education within General and Specialist Medicine and became a Visiting Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University working predominantly with Apprentice Nurses and Nursing Associates. In 2021 Tammy completed a Masters level module/certificate in Professional Nurse Advocacy with Derby University. During her time in the UK Tammy worked on transformation projects related to culture and resilience (including delivery of HeartMath Resilience Training), recruitment and retention, fundamentals of nursing care, restorative clinical supervision, leadership (including delivery of Leading Empowered Organisation training)and developed an Enhanced Care Training Program in collaboration with a London hospital. Her work led to being awarded a Cavell Nursing Award.
