Megan is an Associate Clinical Educator at UniSC, bringing a wealth of practical experience from diverse clinical settings to her academic role since 2021. With over 10 years of nursing experience, Megan's clinical background encompasses operating theatres (scrub/scout & anaesthetics/PACU), general medical, general surgical & orthopaedics, palliative care, wound clinic, quality/risk and clinical governance. This broad experience directly informs her student-centred approach to clinical education and support.
Passionate about fostering excellence in future nurses and enhancing the student learning journey, Megan transitioned into education in 2018, initially in a facilitation role within an acute medical/surgical/operating theatre environment. She moved into academia in 2020 as a Clinical Facilitator Liaison for the Moreton Bay and Southern Region, progressing to her current role at UniSC.
Megan holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Leadership and Teaching (completed 2023) which further strengthens her expertise in educational practice. Demonstrating her commitment to advancing knowledge in the field, Megan is currently exploring PhD opportunities to commence in 2025, with research interests in the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) into nursing curricula to enhance skills acquisition.
Megan is dedicated to making a meaningful contribution to nursing education through fostering student success, promoting best practices in clinical teaching, contributing to the scholarship of learning and teaching within the healthcare sector, and ensuring a positive and enriching student experience.
