Jennifer is a Lecturer in Nursing, and a registered nurse (RN) with over 26 years of experience. She has worked as a nurse in the United States, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. Her specialty is Intensive Care nursing, primarily cardiothoracic ICU. Jennifer has worked as a Cardiology/Respiratory Clinical Nurse Educator and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Clinical Educator/Officer prior to becoming a Nursing Lecturer.
Jennifer is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys passing on knowledge gained over many years to the next generation of healthcare professionals. Outside of lecturing, Jennifer works with the homeless (free health checks) and raises awareness for organ donation.

Jennifer's research interests are varied. One important aspect of her work is to help improve clinical competence, critical thinking, and professionalism within the nursing workforce. Another interest is ethics in healthcare.
Jennifer's PhD focused on improving ward-based hospital nurses’ confidence and competence when performing basic life support through the development of innovative education sessions. This education curriculum has been integrated into the mandatory basic life support training at a Queensland Health hospital.
Her future focus is professional practice and identifying nurses needs to become competent and ethical practitioners.
