Lia is a dedicated Research Fellow at the Centre for Human Factors and Sociotechnical Systems, with a keen interest in social science and human behaviour. She is currently collaborating with Transport and Main Roads on a project aimed at understanding high-risk recidivism in road safety offenders through a systems-thinking approach.

In March 2025, Lia was awarded her PhD, which focuses on the neurological correlates of cyberbullying involvement in adolescence, utilising EEG and self-report measures. This work was conducted at the Thompson Institute (UniSC) as part of the Longitudinal Adolescent Brain Study. Before embarking on her PhD journey, Lia completed her Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at UniSC in 2020.
