I am an insect ecologist/entomologist with broad interests in insect biodiversity and insect-plant community interactions in ecosystems spanning forests, urban and agricultural landscapes. I work with applied ecology/entomology in plantation forests using biological control to manage defoliating insects with natural enemies, as part of integrated pest management. I am also inspiring the next generation of insect ecologists and taxonomists through school visits and citizen science projects, including Insect Investigators, CSIRO STEM professionals in schools, and Kids in Action.
I have been a Research Fellow at FRI since 2020, while previously at University of Copenhagen I taught and worked with insect biodiversity and ecosystem services (pest suppression and pollination) in contexts of invasion ecology, entomopathogenic fungi ecology, forestry, risk assessment of biological control agents, enhancing urban biodiversity and ecosystem services in urban green infrastructure and landscape architecture projects.
