Claire Green

Claire has extensive experience of teaching into the Bachelor of Education programs (Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary), the Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP), program and the Master of Teaching (Secondary) program. She has a passion for working with and supporting pre-service teachers during their journey towards becoming competent educators.

Having completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Secondary Education in the United Kingdom, she began her educational career teaching Design and Technology, Visual Art and English in secondary schools. After moving to Australia, she extended her teaching qualifications through studying a Graduate Diploma in Education (Middle Phase) and subsequently gained experience of teaching in the primary sector. Her interest in theories of learning prompted her to undertake a Master of Education qualification and her research focussed on how tertiary enabling programs contribute towards the development of student self-efficacy. Motivation, in the context of education, remains a focus of interest.

In addition to her teaching role, Claire is involved in the development and delivery of the JustASK professional development workshops which aim to promote a culture of care within the university by equipping participants with introductory skills for supportive and constructive peer conversations.
