Anna Robins is a Lecturer in Nursing in Midwifery within the School of Health at UniSC. Anna has an extensive clinical career spanning over 30 years in nursing and more than 15 years in midwifery. She has worked in clinical roles across the public and private sector in Sydney, Northern New South Wales, and the Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
As a midwife, Anna has worked across various models of care, including in continuity-of-care models, supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She is also an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, further enhancing her expertise in maternal and newborn health.
Anna joined the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC) in 2019, where she has contributed to teaching in both Nursing and Midwifery programs. Her practical knowledge and clinical experience bring depth and relevance to her teaching. She is particularly passionate about fostering meaningful and authentic learning experiences that inspire and prepare students for real-world healthcare challenges.
Anna is a UQ PhD Candidate employing a mixed-methods research design focused on increasing empathy in midwives and reducing weight stigma in maternity care.
