Eli Creek

 

OVERVIEW

Take care driving near the creek as steep washouts occur. Do not picnic here as dingoes frequent this area.

Float or take an invigorating swim down fast-flowing Eli Creek as it pours up to four million litres of clear, fresh water into the ocean every hour.

Eli Creek is the largest freshwater creek on the east coast of the Island and is one of its unique attractions.

The creekis a popular swimming place, with its shallow water creating a natural waterslide as it flows quickly along its narrow, twisting sandy course and out on to the beach.

Walk along the boardwalk to follow the creek inland to see Banksia and Pandanus and search its shallow watersto spotfish and eels.
