Explore

The Explore program offers a creative approach for developing the breadth of students’ career aspirations throughout the upper primary years with a view to improving their understanding and awareness of higher education as a viable post-school option.

The program offers a scaffolded approach for primary school students in Years 4, 5 and 6. Through a series of career-themed activities, students develop an awareness of their own skills and interests while discovering which skills are necessary for a range of different jobs.

As part of the Explore program, Year 4 students are invited to participate in a career-themed art competition. Students create an artistic representation of their ideal career using any visual techniques. View further details about how to enter the Budding Artists competition for Year 4 students.

Year 5 students are invited to attend an Explore Career Pathways Expo at their local UniSC or a collaboration institutes campus which provides direct hands-on experience of different types of jobs and information about a range of career pathways.

Year 6 students are invited to participate in a career-themed creative writing competition. Students think critically about their desired career and share this in a story about what a day in their perfect career would be like.
