Cognitive behavioural case formulations (CBCFs), or shared therapist-client diagrams of the client’s presenting problem, have been widely used in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) but with little research to back up their use. This study, conducted at the USC Psychology Clinic, found that clients reported widely positive experiences with CBCFs, including that CBCFs increased an understanding of their mental health difficulties.
