Bachelor of Health (Nursing)
Program OverviewThe Bachelor of Health (Nursing) degree is offered by Central Queensland University in partnership with University of the Sunshine Coast. One-third of the program is taught by the University of the Sunshine Coast, with the other two-thirds taught via flexible delivery through Central Queensland University. Students complete all of their education on the Sunshine Coast, whether it be on campus, in their own homes, or doing practical work in clinical placements. These placements are undertaken as part of the program with hospitals and health facilities in the Sunshine Coast region, including Gympie. There are also opportunities for interstate and international placements. Students who attain an above average academic standing are eligible to enter the Bachelor of Health Nursing (Honours) program at Central Queensland University. Graduates of TAFE's enrolled nursing course are eligible for the equivalent of up to one year's advanced standing into the nursing degree. Program Requirements and Notes1. A current First Aid course certificate from an organisation recognised by the Australian Resuscitation Council by the end of year 1 is required. 2. Evidence of Hepatitis B vaccination is required before commencing clinical practice in Year 2. 3. A level of computer literacy is required including word processing and email. 4.
