Program Overview

Sustainable tourism explores issues and management approaches relevant to sustainable tourism. You will gain a critical appreciation of environmental factors and sustainable development considerations that are important to tourism development.

You will study topics related to sustainable tourism such as the interaction between society and the environment, information technology and tourism, sustainable development and management, natural environment, environmental science, and business principles of relevance to tourism.

By working closely with local operators you will learn how to solve problems and develop strategies for best practice in sustainable tourism.

Career Outcomes

Knowledge and skills acquired through the Bachelor of Sustainable Tourism are transferable across many sectors such as government, education, the arts, commerce, and industry. Depending on minor and majors chosen, opportunities exist in:

Program Structure

The Bachelor of Sustainable Tourism is offered jointly through the Faculty of Business, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Science. It has a substantially different structure to the normal Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Science.
