Program Overview

If you're interested in a more creative approach to information technology then the Bachelor of Information Technology (E-commerce and Design) may be for you. This degree combines established elements of both business information systems and computer-based art and design.

Learn computer-based art and design, web design, internet commerce and programming, all with applications to the business environment. Other courses cover organisational management, marketing, and the social history of technology and you can choose a minor in a wide variety of areas.

You will gain both an intellectual appreciation of systems thinking and practice in the context of business information, coupled with advanced knowledge and skills in both conventional and web-based digital design, and understand the effective application of Internet technologies

Career Outcomes

Graduates will forge new positions with their skills in both the information systems area for building sound, functional systems, and the computer-based art and design, multimedia area, which looks at innovative ways of designing visual and other communications.

Professional Membership

Students and graduates may apply to the Australian Computer Society for membership.

Program Structure

The Bachelor of InformationTechnology (E-commerce and Design) is offered jointly through the Faculty of Business and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. It has a substantially different structure to the normal Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Arts.
