Mode

On campus, externally and in mixed mode. The external mode of study is subject to the availability of a satisfactory support and infrastructure. Research programs undertaken externally cannot be studied in Australia on a student visa.

Program Overview

The Doctor of Creative Arts (DCA) is a research higher degree designed for professionals such as academics, writers, producers or art directors with existing industry experience, who wish to further their critical and theoretically-informed research capacity.

This program is offered in the areas of:

  • Creative Writing
  • Design (New-Media)

Entry Requirements

Candidates for the award of Doctor of Creative Arts are normally required to hold a Masters degree or a Bachelors degree with at least second class honours Division 1 from a recognised higher education institution.

Applicants who have completed a Bachelors degree and have achieved by subsequent work and study a standard equivalent to at least second class honours Division 1 may also be considered. In exceptional cases applications may be considered on the basis of other evidence of general and professional qualifications as approved by the Research Management Committee.
