Industrial Microbiology and Biotechnology is primarily associated with the commercial exploitation of microorganisms, and involve processes and products that are of major economic, environmental and social importance. The key aspect of the course relates to the production of valuable microbial products via fermentation processes. These include traditional fermented foods and beverages, production of feedstocks, food ingredients and pharmaceuticals.
