OVERVIEW
Swamp Banksia or broad leaved banksia grows in sand or peaty sand.
Swamp Banksia grows in coastal areas from north Queensland to the New South Wales south coast. It is often found in areas which are seasonally inundated.
It is a spreading shrub to 2.5m, although can get a little larger in cultivation. It has very large, leathery tough green leaves with serrated margins. The new growth is colourful, with shades of red and brown with a dense felt-like covering of brown hairs.
