Scholarships, bursaries and prizes

Financial support in the form of scholarships and bursaries can provide much-needed assistance during your studies. They can help pay tuition fees, purchase textbooks and equipment, and meet accommodation and other general living expenses. Individual USC faculties also offer support and reward student excellence through prizes and awards.

In 2009, more than 500 undergraduate students at USC received some form of financial support from scholarships and bursaries worth more than A$1.8 million.

• Undergraduate students - commencing 
  If you plan to enrol at USC in the future, explore your options here. Applications are normally made once you have accepted an offer to study at USC.
• Undergraduate students - continuing 
  Scholarship opportunities for students entering their second year or beyond.
• Postgraduate / Higher Degree by Research students 
  Check out the options for masters or doctoral level study.
• Indigenous and Australian South Sea Islander students 
  In addition to the awards above, Indigenous and Australian South Sea Islander students are encouraged to apply for a range of other programs.
• Headstart scholarships 
  A number of scholarships are available to assist students from low-income families, or students who identify with other recognised equity groups.
• Equity and low-income scholarships 
  Find information on the Start-Up Scholarship and the Relocation Scholarship.
• External scholarships and awards 
  Find other sources of funding to support your studies.
• Overseas travel grants
  Current USC students may be eligible to receive an Overseas Study Grant as part of the GO (Global Opportunities) Program.
